Got down to the beach in the morning, rigged 5.5 and 91, on the basis that it wasn't all that windy, judging by a guy on a 4.7 over in the corner. Wind horribly gusty, coming from the land side :(, stayed upwind really hard, and rode some crappy mushy waves in the corner. Adam, Andrew and Carl arrived and came out. I had got a bit cold, so went in for a drink, and when I came out decided to stay close to the shore and practise some more gybes. Did one absolutely stonking gybe, planing all the way round, but lost it on the last bit (late rig flip). However, fell in (on the last run!!) and couldn't easily waterstart, since by now it was honking in the middle of the bay (blobbing elsewhere!) and my 5.5 was suddenly very large! Rocks and Irish Sea beckoning, and getting increasingly nervous... eventually waterstarted and rode away and back to the beach, breathing sighs of relief. Kicked kit, swore I was never windsurfing again, then got dressed, had tea and felt better. So I probably will do it again ;) and a salutory lesson learned, hope I'll recall it.
